GASTROGRAFIN (diatrizoate meglumine and diatrizoate sodium solution USP) is a palatable lemon-flavored, water-soluble iodinated radiopaque contrast medium for oral or rectal administration used fluoroscopically to examine segments of the gastrointestinal tract, and as an adjunct to contrast enhancement in Computed Tomography (CT) of the abdomen and pelvic anatomy.

GASTROGRAFIN products are particularly useful when barium sulfate is not feasible and in instances such as:

• Threatening perforation
• Suspected partial or complete stenosis
• Cases of acute hemorrhage
• Visualization of foreign bodies before endoscopy
• Visualization of gastrointestinal fistula
• Megacolon
