GaussAlert™ – Magnetic Field Strength Alarm System

Ensure safer MRI environments with GaussAlert™, a specialized magnetic field detection system designed to help keep MR Conditional equipment outside the MRI exclusion zone. GaussAlert™ continuously monitors the ambient magnetic field and triggers a loud, attention-grabbing audio alarm when preset magnetic field thresholds are exceeded—alerting staff before equipment gets too close to the MRI magnet.

Medical devices such as infusion pumps, contrast injectors, patient monitors, and anesthesia machines can malfunction or cause harm if exposed to high magnetic field strengths. Additionally, bringing MR Conditional equipment too close to the MRI magnet can compromise scan quality. GaussAlert™ helps prevent both equipment failure and image degradation, supporting both patient safety and diagnostic accuracy.

GaussAlert can also be useful as an alert for MR unsafe equipment, such as a crash cart or an emergency resuscitator, which can be kept near, but should not be taken into the MRI magnet room.

The GaussAlert is available in three factory preset gauss thresholds: 10, 30, and 100 gauss, based on the equipment manufacturer's specifications.  GaussAlert easily and quickly attaches to any piece of equipment and requires no periodic maintenance for up to five years.  It is internally-powered and continuously monitors the ambient magnetic field strength.

GaussAlert compliments the function of our FerrAlert Halo Entry detector by monitoring equipment that has passed through the portal but still must be monitored inside the magnet room.
