Bind-It Decontaminant

This decontamination fluid is effective in removing radioactive contamination and bacteria without damaging sensitive equipment. It is an effective cleaner and a decontaminant in a single solution.

To use Bind-It Ready-to-Use Spray, spray it directly onto radionuclide-contaminated surfaces (especially effective for radioiodine, ????−131, and many other nuclear medicine isotopes like Tc, Ga, In, Cr, Sm), allow it to act as a sudsing cleaner to bind and lift the contamination, then wipe the surface clean with a damp cloth or paper towel, rinsing the area, making it safe for delicate detectors, bench tops, floors, and patient areas.

General Application Steps

1. Identify Contamination: Locate areas with residual radioactivity, particularly radioiodine.
2. Spray Liberally: Apply Bind-It Ready-to-Use Spray directly onto the contaminated surface.
3. Observe Sudsing Action: The fluid will foam and bind to the radioactive particles, lifting them from the surface.
4. Wipe Clean: Use a moist sponge, paper towels, or cloth to wipe away the suds and contaminants.
5. Rinse (Optional but Recommended): For thorough decontamination, especially on sensitive equipment, rinse the area with clean water after wiping.
6. Verify (Survey): Use a survey meter to confirm contamination removal to acceptable levels.
