1cm x 4mm Contrast Test Disc for Mammographic Accreditation Phantom

This is the phantom used in the American College of Radiology Accreditation Program. Helps ensure optimum image quality and peak performance from your mammographic system.

The phantom contains test objects embedded in a square wax block that simulate mammographic indications of breast cancer. Aluminum oxide specks are used to simulate punctuate calcifications, thin nylon fibrils simulate soft tissue fibrillar extensions in adipose tissue, and parts of spheres mimic tumor-like masses. When imaged, these objects simulate clinical pathology.

A 4 mm thick by 1 cm diameter acrylic disc is included which is used to check system contrast.
